A Christian partner organisation in South Asia is currently advertising a wide range of vacancies for professional expatriate workers. Please do take time to explore the following needs and share these with anyone you know who may be interested.
Please note: all expatriate volunteers applying for a visa will require:
• A Master’s degree [or equivalent] in a relevant subject and at least five years of experience in a related field.
• The desire to combine their Christian faith and technical expertise to equip, encourage and strengthen the capacity of others.
• A good understanding of and full commitment to our values, and a passion for intercultural Christian service.
• Intercultural training/experience.
• A sending agency (provided through Interserve Great Britain & Ireland)
If you do not have the above qualifications, there may be opportunities to serve in an advisory/training capacity for three months or less.
Primary School Teacher
We are urgently seeking an experienced Primary School Teacher for a city-based Study Centre. This is a wonderful opportunity to invest in young people’s lives and enables expatriates to serve in South Asia using their technical skills to build the capacity of our partner organisation.
Fund Raising, Communications and Marketing
We have several fundraising, communications & marketing advisor positions available. These roles are strategic in the development of international relations, sourcing financial and human resources, and strengthening the capacity of the communications, marketing, funding and donor relations teams within the organisation.
Community Health and Development Advisor
We are looking for someone with expertise and experience in transformational community development work who will work closely with the Director of Community Health and Development and staff teams on strengthening community health strategies with a focus on maternal and child health, sexual and reproductive health rights and gender issues. They will provide technical support through capacity building training on emerging health rights and issues and also support project staff through field visits. They need to be proficient in developing training curricula to implement with field staff.
Monitoring & Evaluation and Project Design
We have two advisor positions that require statistical research design and report writing expertise and experience. Working with a counterpart and senior staff, they will help field staff to identify priority needs and new areas of research and evaluation methodologies. They will provide technical advice and develop new professional areas in development work, bringing international expertise into the decisions. Experience with statistical data analysis packages, high-level Excel, and effectiveness evaluation in the developing world would be an added benefit.
Livelihoods Development
This role involves training a counterpart and project leaders to identify and act on key needs, relating the professional skills of staff to those needs. They will apply and teach appropriate international best practice and train national staff to develop and implement appropriate strategies.
Gender and Minority Inclusion Advisor
Ideally with a Master’s degree in gender and/or disability studies, this person will be a key support at both the organisation and community project level. Their responsibility will be to mainstream Gender Equity and Disability Social Inclusion strategies and approaches into projects, concept notes and project design. Curriculum development, training and needs identification through community field visits and discussions with project staff will be an essential component of this work.
Disaster Resilience Management, Resilience Advisor & Trainer
The impact of increasing natural disasters and climate change have raised the importance of community preparedness in this nation for changes and unexpected events. The post holder will have training and experience in developing protocols and strategies to prepare people to cope with such events and more gradual change, and to deal with the aftermath of disasters. Together with a counterpart they will train and develop local staff in the field of disaster management and develop disaster management systems for the organisation in line with international standard disaster management best practice.
Health Services/Hospital Development
We are looking for someone to help develop our three hospitals as ‘centres of excellence’ in leprosy and disability. Working with senior staff, they will plan and deliver long-term strategy that includes infrastructure development, human resource and major equipment procurement.
Palliative Care Specialist/Doctor
There are a number of exciting opportunities for qualified Palliative Care personnel to strengthen the sustainability of our work in developing a Palliative Care and Chronic Disease Centre of Excellence at one of our hospitals. They will assist in providing clinical services and will support the teaching and mentoring programmes, as well as research activities, in this emerging technical area.
Organizational, HR, and T&D Development
To help develop the HR Department, and the strategy for the whole organization, we are seeking someone with expertise and experience in leadership development who can identify and implement strategies and programmes to support future leaders. We are also keen for this person to be able to advise on integral mission.
Information Technology Development
We need someone who can help to develop IT systems as well as develop strategy at an organisational level. They will work with a counterpart to ensure that relevant international developments in IT and other technical areas are incorporated into our work and shared with partners and other local organisations.
Structural Engineer
We invite applications from experienced professionals with an Architecture, Civil/Structural Engineering, or Construction Management background to work as a Technical Advisor alongside local engineers in supporting our three health facilities as well as community-based services. Your involvement may range from providing value engineering, contract management, design management, health & safety, and sustainability advice, to conducting needs analyses with clinicians, and advising our senior management on staged hospital development, championing resilience in a disaster-prone context.
Biomedical Engineer
We have an exciting opportunity to serve, develop and expand the biomedical engineering department in one of our hospitals. Established only a few years ago, the department has developed to provide preventive maintenance and repair of medical devices as well as advising on the procurement process. The next steps will be to further mature the department, to extend and build its capacity in skill and human resource, and also to incorporate the provision of biomedical services into our other two hospitals.
