We are delighted to share that Interserve’s International Council has appointed both Lyn Pearson (currently Interserve Australia Partner) and our very own National Director Chris Binder as our next International Director(s). After much prayer and an extended search process for a new International Director, the pair have agreed to bring their shared expertise and complementary gifts to this role, transitioning into the post from March 2025 when they take over from current International Director, Bijoy Koshy.

    Lyn Pearson

“What a gift and challenge to embody our values of community and oneness in shared leadership with Chris. This demonstrates women and men leading at all levels in our fellowship and I am honoured and humbled by God’s invitation to serve the fellowship in this way.”

    Chris Binder

“It is a privilege to be asked to serve in this role as we seek to be faithful to God as a fellowship and who He has called us to be in our changing world. Having worked together for many years at both a regional and international level, I am so grateful for the opportunity to co-lead with Lyn.”

Chair of Trustees for Great Britain & Ireland, Jane Howitt, writes:

“We have very much benefited from Chris’ servant-hearted leadership over the past four years and are delighted at the way in which his strategic thinking and pastoral heart have combined to bring stability to our staff team and enabled us to work to our strategic objectives. His long experience with Interserve in varied roles has brought unique insights into our work, not least his embodying of our values and courageous embracing of the shifting paradigm of missions. This has enabled us to be more responsive particularly in our seeking to facilitate partners whose background would make it extremely challenging to raise financial support to fully belong and serve where God is calling them.

As a Board, we value your prayers as we embark upon a search process for Chris’ successor in Interserve Great Britain & Ireland (GBI), and trust that we can continue to count on your partnership with us as we enter a new stage in the life of our fellowship both here and internationally.”

Chris adds, “I have very much enjoyed my time as National Director at Interserve and will be sorry to move on from the role. However I am excited for this new opportunity to serve and look forward to maintaining the close relationship between GBI and the International Fellowship.”
