We are delighted to announce the appointment of a new National Director for Interserve Great Britain, Phil Lewis, who will join our staff team later this summer.
Jane Howitt, Chair of Trustees, writes:
Over the last few months, we have been in a period of listening and discerning as a whole fellowship; asking God to guide us to the person of his choice to lead Interserve GBI for the next season. The Trustees are now pleased to announce that Phil Lewis will be joining us later this summer as the next National Director for ISV Great Britain & Ireland.
Phil comes to Interserve after serving for a number of years with an international development charity, both as Executive Director and latterly as their External Relationship Manager. We look forward to seeing how his strategic gifts and spiritual leadership will unfold in our midst and would ask you to be praying for him and his family as they prepare to make this transition.
We are thankful for each person who put themselves forward for consideration throughout this process and for each one of you who has prayed, shared Scripture or supported the Trustees in coming to this decision. We look forward to seeing the plans that God has for Interserve GBI under Phil’s leadership in the coming years.
Phil writes:
Hi, I’m Phil. I’m really looking forward to joining the team at Interserve GBI. For the past ten years, I have been working for a charity in Central Asia. I live in Shrewsbury with family and enjoy playing board games, reading, and cooking in my spare time. I try to keep active and enjoy the odd 5K or sprint triathlon (though I wouldn’t call myself an athlete by any stretch!).
I interacted with Interserve a lot in my previous role, and have always admired its commitment to wholistic mission, its collaborative approach, and the support it provides to Partners.
I’m passionate about how mission overseas and here in the UK are connected. One thing that I’ve often shared with my own supporters is that God calls us to be His hands and feet wherever we are, whether in full-time ministry, or in the everyday moments of our lives. I love seeing how God’s mission stretches across the world while also shaping the way we live and serve here in the UK.
I’m excited to be joining Interserve GBI, helping to mobilise people to serve people of Asia and the Arab world – whether in cross-cultural settings overseas, or right in their own communities.
